It has always been a dilemma for many on the choice that they will have for their beddings. Some would want to be safe and go for traditional fit sheets. However, with the introduction of deep pocket sheets, many others gear towards it to. Now, if you are caught in this dilemma as well, when should you go for one over the other?
Basically, deep pocket sheets are used if you are uncertain about the size of your mattress. If you buy a traditional fit and it failed to fit in the size of your mattress, there would be some areas that are left uncovered at all. Since you don’t want this to happen, you have to be safe and go for deep pocket sheets. With this option, you are assured that even if your mattress is big or small, it can still fit in the right way. The “pocket” allows an extra space to tuck in some parts that are not covered. When your mattress is smaller, it is fine. You can just hide the extra sheets underneath the mattress.
Between these two, deep pocket sheets are also thicker. If you are more comfortable with that, you better choose it. Yet, there are different types of fabrics used in making these sheets. If you really want to go for deep pocket sheets that are not too thick, choose a more appropriate fabric.
The only down side of deep pockets sheets is the price. Since they are thicker and bigger, you really have to pay more. Given this, it would be better if you choose the traditional fit if you are already certain regarding the dimensions of your mattress.
