The Compound Bow Offers Superior Performance

Compound bows have been known to have better performance over other types of bows. They come in all kinds of different frame designs and made of different materials. The main benefit of using a compound bow is that it offers an amazing amount of accuracy over other bows. You can shoot the arrow at a higher velocity with less arc. What really makes the compound bow great for beginners and really all hunters is the fact that it requires little strength to draw the bow.

The compound bow was created back in the 60′s when hunters wanted to get away from the traditional designs like the recurve and long bows. Hunters wanted to use different kinds of materials to withstand different environmental and weather conditions. For example, wood seamed to warp and change shape and size when it got wet or was in an extreme humidity environment. Manufacturers started using different types of composite and aluminum materials in the bows. What they found is that not only did these new materials help with the durability of the bows, but it also helped transfer more energy to the arrow for a more powerful shot.

The compound bow is far superior in its ability to fire an arrow at high velocities. Most common bows are able to produce draw weights that will shoot an arrow fairly straight; however, they achieve this capability through using heavier and thicker materials. The advantage of the compound bow is that it is able to achieve the same velocity with only a 50 pound draw weight. This is an amazing difference that gives the compound bow the advantage.

The compound bow also has a draw weight that starts to decrease at around 60% of the draw. This allows the hunter to draw and hold his arrow position without getting a sore arm. This allows the bow hunter more time to aim and fire his or her bow with greater accuracy.
