Peachy Keen Olive Oil Soap Recipe

This recipe incorporates olive oil along with a bit of Pourette red soap color (about the size of this capital “O”) combines with the natural yellow beeswax to equal a beautiful peach-colored soap. Dissolve the coloring in the flavoring oil. Use only peach flavoring oil for this recipe and not the more familiar peach flavoring extract, which contains too much alcohol.

• 6 ounces olive oil
• 5 ounces shortening
• 3 ounces coconut oil
• 2 ounces palm oil
• 1 ounce beeswax
• 2.4 ounce lye
• 1 cup cold water

Fragrance:

1. Fat temperature: 160 degrees F
2. Lye-water Temperature: 140 degrees F
3. Tracing time: 4 minutes
4. Time in molds: 24 hours
5. Place the soap in a freezer for 3 hours then remove it from the molds.
6. Age: 6 weeks

Bayberry Castile Olive Oil Soap

Bayberry is a fragrant wax from a North American Shrub. Bayberry wax plus olive oil equals a naturally-colored soap. The light olive green color is a good base for herbal soap that doesn’t require artificial color.

• 10 ounces olive oil
• 4 ounces palm oil
• 2 ounces coconut oil
• 2 ounces bayberry or myrtle wax
• 2.5 ounces lye
• 1 cup cold water

Fragrance:

1. 1 teaspoon neroli perfume oil
2. 1/4 teaspoon lemon grass oil
3. 1/8 teaspoon natural clove oil
4. 1/8 teaspoon sandalwood oil
5. Fat temperature: 165 degrees F
6. Lye-water Temperature: 145 degrees F
7. Tracing time: 4 minutes
8. Time in molds: 24 hours
9. Place the soap in a freezer for 3 hours then remove it from the molds.
10. Age: 8 weeks

Pollen Pleasure Olive Oil Soap

Protein rich pollen provides gentle scrubbing grains and a natural honey color to this unusual soap.

About thirty minutes before you mix this sap, combine the fragrant oils and pollen so the pollen has time to soften. Some granules dissolve, while a few remain whole to add color and interesting texture to your Pollen Pleause!

• 9 ounces shortening
• 4 ounces coconut oil

• 1/4 ounce beeswax
• 2.4 ounces lye
• 3/4 cup cold water
• Optional Ingredients:
• 1 tablespoon natural bee pollen
• 1 teaspoon honey (added to the lye-water)

Fragrance:

1. 1 teaspoon artificial bergamot oil
2. 1/2 teaspoon sandalwood oil
3. Fat temperature: 155 degrees F
4. Lye-water Temperature: 155 degrees F
5. Tracing time: 12 minutes
6. Time in molds: 24 hours
7. Place the soap in a freezer for 3 hours then remove it from the molds.
8. Age: 3 weeks
