Increasing Storage Room in the Garage

If you are faced without a basement or a large attic at your house, there is a good chance that you are going to be in search of additional storage space to store your extra household items. In these instances, most people turn to the garage as the place where they can store their large and small items so they are out of way inside the house. But what happens when you don’t have a lot of room in the garage to store items in, either because the garage is too small or because the cars that are parked inside are too large that garage storage space is hard to come by.
In those situations, the best way to increase the amount of storage space that you have to work with is by installing overhead garage storage units by the ceiling. These units come in many different sizes with some coming in as small as 2 x 2 with some larger units ranging from 4′ x 8′. What is neat about these types of units is that they can be installed anywhere overhead as most units come with the ability to adjust their height. That means that the units can be placed directly above the tracks of the garage door or in the open space after the tracks and the walls of the garage.
These overhead units are a great place to store larger items, bulky boxes or different shaped longer items that might not fit in the typical types of garage storage solutions. For example, things you would want to store overhead would include items such as holiday decorations, camping gear, Christmas trees and other items that find yourself using only one of two times per year.
Some units will even come with accessories that will allow you to store items on the outside of the units such as ladders, bikes or fishing poles.
